Other Current Projects

Funding the rehabilitation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities:  

• Restore, repair or replace toilets in the junior school (12), senior school (Boarding home, and Main Administrative (16) and Clerical staff spaces near Library and Band room (7). 
• Rehabilitate conditions on facilities including flooring and walls 
• Construction of a tower with water tanks to supply water into the toilets and washrooms 
• Digging and construction of a water well to aid the constant supply of water into the water tanks, rather than being reliant on the Guma Valley Water Company for water supply 

AWOGA UK is in continuous engagement and collaboration with other AWOGA Chapters through the Presidents’ Council to ensure that we have a coordinated approach in dealing with major projects at the school such as:  

• Flood mitigation exercise on the drainage system 
• The old boarding school was converted to science laboratories 
• Construction of new classrooms to cater for the current population of approximately 2600 pupils

AWOGA UK will be collaborating with AWOGA US in fundraising for the 2Rs project which is to restore the main administrative building as this requires a lot of work
